Jimmy Hill - Hovis
Jimmy Hill has died aged 87.

A pioneer of the modern game arguably. Spawned playground phrases for years and was hated by the Jocks.

RIP THE CHIN

Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
My memories started with him on ITV, The Big Match with the immortal Brian Moore

He was really the first pundit as we know them and in those days gave a different dimension to the game

Forward thinker and another part of my youth gone

RIP Jimmy and my youth

I seem to remember Dani Behr being shagged by Ryan Giggs then Les Ferdinand. She is now a single parent selling property in Los Angeles.

PS RIP Jimmy.

Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
Good memories of the bloke.

I'll always remember when he blamed a ball girl for a result for not throwing the ball back quickly enough at the end of a game and got himself into trouble and had to apologise, think it was Blackburn vs Liverpool. Another one I vaguely recall was when he had a huge disagreement with another pundit at HT over a penalty decision in a Cup final, I think.

RIP the chin.

Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
Have to say in that video Mike posted up Hill talks sense...

Talking about getting kids used to being in control of the ball and not scared of possession.

22 years ago! Fuck all has changed for England in fact they've gone backwards and he mentioned Spain underperforming and look what they went on to do...

Jimmy Hill is someone who reminds me of a different, in many ways better era of the game. RIP.

Thought he died years ago. Same as Warren Mitchell (Alf Garnet) I was certain they were both already dead.

Don't mean to speak ill of the dead but I always thought of him as boring and a bit of a dick.
